Former Fair Haven Sunoco gas station owner, Richard “Rick” Duckworth, passed away peacefully on March 31 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, surrounded by his family. He was 74.

“Rick retired to Myrtle Beach, SC, and frequently visited his daughters, grandchildren, and dear friends in New Jersey. He will be sorely missed and fondly remembered for his heart of gold and the kindness he shared with everyone who knew him.”
Born July 3, 1951 in Oceanport, Rick spent most of his life there. A graduate of Shore Regional High School, he started a successful landscaping business prior to serving in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War era.
Rick was predeceased by: his parents, Robert and Christina Duckworth; and his older brother, Russell.
He is survived by: his oldest brother, Robert “Bill” Duckworth, of Rumson; his two daughters, Karen Duckworth Hunter of Oceanport, and Nicole Duckworth, of Myrtle Beach, SC; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Walker Hunter; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
There will be a memorial gathering at John. E Day Funeral Home, Red Bank, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 30,
