Children’s show icon Fred Rogers couldn’t have been more right when he said this. In the course of our lives we meet many people. Sometimes it seems like they are our destiny. Other times, they pass through, leaving the simple mark of a smile and a kind word or a few. Some even leave a lasting sting with a scowl and searing message. A little lesson, perhaps.
Most often, though, it’s the warm connection that is forged in any time from a moment’s meeting to a lifetime that defines us and our reason on Earth.
In this Earth’s microcosm of community in the Rumson-Fair Haven area, those meetings and connections have stuck with most forever. The people in the place we call home. Some left us in 2019. Some remain. Some were just passing through. These are the moments. These are the faces … the faces of one year, 2019, we remember.
