Summer may be over, but weekend DWI checkpoints in Monmouth County continue.
There are two checkpoints slated for this weekend, the Monmouth County DWI Task Force announced. They will run from Friday night at 11 p.m. through Sunday morning at 1 a.m..
These DWI checkpoints are publicized in accordance with the law.

On Friday, Sept. 8, in Howell … The first checkpoint will be Friday, September 8, from 11p-3a, in Howell. All vehicles on Rt 9N will be diverted into the Regal Plaza.
Starting at 11 p.m. and running through 3 a.m. on Saturday, all vehicles traveling north on Route 9 will be diverted into the Regal Plaza where DWI Task Force members and local police will screen for sobriety.
On Saturday, Sept. 9, in Avon … The second checkpoint will be Saturday, September 9, from 9p-1a, in Avon, on Rt 71 (Main Street).
From 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Sunday, all vehicles headed down Route 71, Main Streetwill be diverted and DWI Task Force members and Avon police will screen for sobriety.
