The Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School (RFH) Surf Team rode a wave of success on Sunday. The team took fourth place in the National Scholastic Surfing Association (NSSA) Northeast Conference High School Championships competition on Sunday in Spring Lake.

Looking back, the cold didn’t seem to stave off the die-hard Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School ocean dwellers.
We’ve seen them in full Polar Bear Club regalia. Now, in our Retro Pic of the (George) Day, here they are again at shoreline of Sea Bright Beach ready for some surfing fun circa 1978.
Donning down and ski jackets, this crew was always ready to catch a wave — of fun in one way or another.

Not all that long ago, the sun was shiningly brightly on Sea Bright Beach.
Now, as winter closes in and the sun starts to hide, take a minute, like this seagull, to reflect on summer days in the surf.
