It’s something that’s been a common problem for in recent in the Rumson-Fair Haven area, and it’s happening again. There’s been a run of vehicle burglaries and auto thefts involving unlocked cars with key fobs left inside in Rumson.
The Rumson Police Department announced on its Facebook page recently that the investigation of multiple vehicle burglaries and auto thefts that occurred between the hours of 12 a.m. (midnight) and 3 a.m. on the early morning of Sunday, July 28 is underway.
Police said that the specific areas in which the thefts and burglaries took place are: Navesink Avenue, Tulip Tree Lane, Avenue of Two Rivers South, Linden Lane, Osprey Lane and Woodside Drive.
Police ask that any residents with security cameras review any recorded activity on those early morning hours of July 28 and report anything that may help with the investigation.
“In the event you are able to provide any information or video footage, please contact Rumson Police Detective Cody Lovgren #73 at 732-842-0500 or e-mail [email protected],” police said.
Police repeat what they’ve urged when such incidents have occurred several times before over the years: “Please secure your vehicles and avoid becoming a victim.”
