Rumson Police Report: Theft, Aggravated Assault, Unlawful Weapon Possession, Property Damage, Out-of-Hand Party

The following July criminal incidents and arrests were reported by Rumson Police. An arrest does not constitute a conviction.

Criminal Incidents

• A Rumson Road resident reported on July 13 that a county speed limit sign, a bench and a garden statue on his property had been damaged sometime overnight.

Patrolman Timothy Lackner took the report.

• A resident of Edwards Point Road reported on July 4 that an Apple iPad and a Macbook had been stolen from his vehicle sometime between July 1 and 4.

S/O Matthew Pelech took the report.

Arrests

• Samuel Reid, 18, of Howell, was arrested on July 17 and charged with aggravated assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, related to an incident at a Buena Vista home on July 9. Three juvenile males were also charged by Patrolman Stephanie Lehner through the juvenile court system.

• Patrols responded to a home on Buena Vista Avenue on July 9 on a report of a party that got out of hand. On arrival patrols determined that an altercation had occurred involving a group of adults and juveniles. Nicholas Roork, 18, of Rumson, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose by Patrolman James Camilleri.
