Here’s to a home run of an RFH Baseball season and lifetime friendship!
There’s nothing like some team time off the field. In this Retro Pic of the (George) Day, there’s a lot going on, and it’s likely a mix of socializing and game strategizing. Covering bases is what this group of RFH guys — and one pioneering girl in the then all boys sport — are doing.
Imagine that. Just more than 40 years ago, girls weren’t playing that field.
Most in this snapshot are Class of ’78 guys. One was class president, another a surfer dude gone baseball for the season, another a Rumsonite still around the town and yet another is the son of a woman who has probably won the prize, if there were one, for attending the most Fair Haven Borough Council meetings. Know who that is? Which is her boy? Who was the girl? Where is she? She’s been featured before. No, it’s not the blonde. But who is the blonde?
See? It’s not always all about the game. It’s about getting up to bat, running and covering all those growing up bases.
A lot of these guys are still friends and playing ball together. Know who?
Play ball! Score!
