They call it a gaggle of geese, because when geese get together, they’re so excited to hang out that they are quite rambunctious. Well, maybe just have a lot to say. And they’re a close-knit bunch — just like this group of RFH girls from the early 80s.
This den gathering at the Kneur home in Fair Haven was a common scene back in the unmasked days of old — decades ago. The cozy pose brings those warm and fuzzy memories of such gatherings right back.
Besties. As good ol’ Boz Scaggs sang in his Silk Degrees album, a quite popular one of the era, “Best of friends … never part.”
That’s what this pose embodies. Though two pictured have sadly passed, the others haven’t forgotten them.
The picture, contributed by Anne Kneuer, tells the story and shares the love of a bunch of RFH classmates enjoying the simple pleasure of one another’s company … and perhaps a game of Truth or Dare. Magic 8 Ball?
Nothing nefarious about it. It’s a memory to warm the soul on a chilly winter night with hopes of close encounters in the near future.
So, what were these girls up to? Recognize them? What did you do with your high school besties in the 80s?
Thanks to Anne Kneuer for this snapshot into the past!
RIP, Claire Kneuer and Maryanne.
