Well, we’re steeped in summertime; and RFH reunions are coming in hot.
So, there’s no time like reunion season to bring you back to 1988 with a glimpse into a first reunion for the RFH Class of ’78, of course, because the 45th reunion for this class is soon — Aug. 26 at the scene of the infamous 1978 RFH Senior Dinner Dance, The Shore Casino in Atlantic Highlands. (Yes, ’78 classmates, click the highlighted text, RSVP and pay NO LATER than Aug. 20!)
The 10th is the first for RFHers. It’s a milestone. It’s the first time the class is together again since graduation. Though, some friendships just don’t end when the graduation caps are tossed in the air. That’s the way it’s been for this RFH class, anyway.
Nonetheless, the beginning of reunions for this class was the beginning of another tradition and reason to get together again. But, in between reunions, rest assured, there were plenty of meet-ups among friends.
This 10th was at the Molly Pitcher Inn in Red Bank with a view of the river that was as much a part of these RFHers’ lives as one another growing up. That was definitely the case for the cool RFH guys at this table. You’ve seen them before. They’re the surfer dudes, the cheerleaders, skateboarders … the cool guys. And, as was par for the course with this bunch, someone always ended up sporting a proper linen napkin off the table as a doo rag. Hmmmmm … We know who you are behind those Foster Grants, John. Do you?
One is gone. That would be a class favorite, AJ Bruder, behind the Ray Bans. The others? They still know how to party with style and an awful lot of fun. Recognize anyone else? And what was being whispered into AJ’s ear? Craziest thing that happened at your first RFH reunion? Can you caption this one?
Cheers to reunion season!
