This baseball season at RFH promises to be a home run hit, as bases are loaded with team cheer all about playing the field again. It’s spring and high school baseball season is officially in full swing.
Batter up! We offer a little pre-game glimpse back to a different time with some still familiar RFH faces.
It’s the Retro Pic of the (George) Day that serves as a reminder of warm baseball times off the field with team buds back in the dugout.
This classic from the 70s shows a few people who still seem to look the same and are in the area.
One of them is the RFH Class of ’78 president. Remember who that was? Who else do you recognize in this shot? One is the son of a favorite Fair Haven meeting regular. Know who that would be?
And, more importantly, one of these teammates is not like the other. We’re talking ’70s high school baseball trailblazer. Who? Why?
And notice the lettering on the hats and that they say “RF” rather than “RFH.” Hmmm. We all said “RFH” when abbreviating the high school in talk, but most of the uniforms and varsity letters did have an “RF” printed on them. Why?
Oh, well. Play ball!
