It’s spooky and kooky Halloween party season.
And there’s nothing quite like a costume party full of festive, fun fiends who take full advantage of the season to say the devil made them do it when it comes to tricks and the sometimes questionable treat of their disguises.
Well, this party capture from a not-so-ghoulish group of costumed Fair Haven firemen in 1962 definitely grabbed the spirit of the Halloween party moment.
We’re not so sure what, exactly, was going on in this particular party microcosm, but it’s a pretty sure bet that there were a few tricks going on before this treat of a troupe got into this jagged line-up of ghastly, rather than ghostly, guys.
The guy with the quite old-fashioned mic is clearly giving everyone something to cackle about rather than spook. Though, the guy on the left in the rear looks a tad possessed by the devil that made him do it.
The costumes? Well, we’re not sure. But, it seems that most wanted to keep the dress in dress-up.
The costumed kooks? Well, we’re pretty sure we spy, at the very least, a Bill Lang, a Bennett and a Connor. What they are, we don’t know. Waldo? No. Wrong era.
Well, the most popular costume of 1962 was Rocky and Bullwinkle. Remember that one? They were the infamous moose and squirrel cartoon team. This pic seems to be full of Natasha wannabes on an epic fail mission. Ahem. But, we digress …
Whoever they area, all that matters is keeping the Halloween fun in some festive firemen’s party time. We’re sure the moment, along with the spirit of the friendships and camaraderie, stayed with them forever, just like the snapshot back in time stays with us.
So, cheers to good friends, the weekend’s Halloween festivities and the firemen here who ignited the fun in volunteerism!
