Authorities are investigating a Tuesday night Asbury Park shooting that left a teen in critical condition, officials from the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office announced on Wednesday.
At 10:32 p.m. on Tuesday night, the Asbury Park Police Department responded to the sound of shots fired in the area of 2 Atkins Avenue in Asbury Park — the Asbury Park Village housing complex, the Prosecutor’s Office statement said. Upon arrival, officers found a 19- year-old male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. EMS transported the victim to a local hospital where he remains in critical condition, the release added.
Shortly after the shooting, officers arrested two male suspects, a 19- and 18-year-old, who are in custody.
