A 31-year-old teacher has been charged with the distribution of child sexual abuse materials (CSAM), Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago announced on Friday.
Christopher A. Decesare, 31, of Matawan, a music teacher/orchestra director at Toms River South Intermediate School, has been charged with one count of second-degree distribution of child sexual abuse materials (CSAM), more commonly known as child pornography.
An investigation into this matter was initiated in July by the MCPO High Tech Bureau’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit, after receiving a National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTip from a social media platform.
The investigation determined that Decesare had been distributing CSAM via social media to other users. Further investigation revealed that Decesare was also receiving CSAM via a personal email account.
Decesare was arrested on Thursday, Aug. 29, by members of the MCPO, Search Warrant Execution Team (SWET), and the Matawan police.
Anyone with information is being asked to contact Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Detective Anthony Lacher at 800-533-7443.
The case is assigned to Monmouth County Assistant Prosecutor Kristen Anastos. Decesare is being represented by Thomas Huth, Esq., with an office in Freehold.
