Former Fair Havenite Susanne (Chernavsky) Smith-Gween passed away on Oct. 13 at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank. She was 71.
Born in Red Bank to Leonard and Patricia (Kellenyi) Chernavsky, Susanne grew up in Fair Haven and also lived in Red Bank.
Susanne worked as a nurses’ aide for many years at Shrewsbury Manor and, more recently, caring for her mother.
She is predeceased by: her father; both of her husbands, Craig Smith and David Gween; and her sister, Bonnie Neapolitano.
She is survived by: her daughter, Antoinette Brock; her mother, Patricia; her siblings and their spouses, Daniel and Janine Chernavsky, Dennis and Katie Redditt, Bridget Vandenboss and George Berger, Jill and Gary Homefield; and her beloved grandchildren, Nicole and Craig Brock.
A memorial gathering took place from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 18 at the John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank.
