In Memoriam: Red Bank Resident Kristen Garrison, 50

Red Bank resident Kristen E. Garrison passed away at home, surrounded by family, on Nov. 27. She was 50.

Born in Morristown to the late Donald and MaryBeth (Propst) Westervelt, she graduated from Jefferson Township High School in 1990. Kristen earned her bachelor’s degree from Caldwell College and also studied at Kean College.

Kristen was a dedicated educator in the Newark School System.

She and her daughter attended St. James RC Church in Red Bank.

Kristen is survived by: her loving husband of 20 years, Richard Garrison; her beloved daughter, Elizabeth; her siblings, Peter Westervelt and companion Kim Vong, of PA, and Kate Cattani and husband Tony, of Medford; brother-in-law, Terrence Garrison and wife Kahterah, of Bloomfield; and sister-in-law, Ann Richardson and husband Brian, of East Orange; and nieces and nephews, Mady, Alena, Laurel and Reese Cattani and Tyrone and Gerrod Richardson.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, Dec. 3, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. A celebration of Kristen’s life will take place at 2:30. Please wear bright colors to honor Kristen.
