In Memoriam: Red Bank Resident, Kenneth Horne, 68

Red Bank resident Kenneth G. Horne passed away peacefully on Sept. 15 after a long battle with prostate cancer, surrounded by this wife and two daughters. He was 68.

“He will be remembered by his compassion for others, his ability to make light of any situation, and undeniable resiliency. He was a fighter and cherished every moment and all the memories with loved ones … Just like he dealt with all experiences in life, Ken managed his illness with unquestionable strength, and wanted to spend as much time with his loved ones as possible … His passion for his family was undeniable.  He constantly looked forward to time spent with his wife, their two daughters and two granddaughters.  He was loving and committed to providing for his family. He loved golfing, cooking, backyard barbecues, sporting events and music concerts.”

Ken was a graduate of Miami University and a member of Sigma Nu fraternity. “He was very passionate and dedicated during his 46 year career in the credit insurance industry where he made some of his lifelong friends.”

Ken is survived by: his wife of 40 years, Barbara; daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter, Victoria, Brien and Quinn Truscott; daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter, Ashley, Chris and Brielle Napoli; sisters, Barbara and Debbie; and brother, sister-in-law and niece, Kevin, Christie and Ali. 

Ken was preceded in death by his parents George and Alice Horne.

A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, Sept. 23, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in memory of Ken to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center for prostate cancer research
