In Memoriam: Red Bank native and Mustillo’s Owner, Lois Caivano, 90

Red Bank native and Mustillo’s owner, Lois Caivano, more recently of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, Aug. 23, with her loving family by her side. She was 90.

Lois was born and raised in Red Bank to the late Emilio and Mary Mustillo, the founders of Mustillo’s on Broad Street. Lois and her family continued to own and operate the business, which will soon celebrate its 82nd anniversary.

“Lois, with her infectious warm smile, never missed a moment to offer a hug or a kind word.  She effortlessly made everyone feel special, important and always welcome in her home. She loved art, fashion, and cooking, but her greatest joy was her family. She shared in her children and grand children’s activities and achievements, always supporting their many creative and athletic endeavors. A beloved mother and ‘Nanny,’ Lois instilled the importance of family values and tradition.”
