The following December criminal incidents and arrest were reported by Rumson police. An arrest does not constitute a conviction.
Note: Numerous calls reporting drone activity during the month of December were received at police headquarters. All complainants were advised how to file a suspicious drone report with the Office of Homeland Security.
Criminal Incidents
• A Riverside Drive resident reported on Dec. 22 that a package valued at approximately $30 was stolen from their porch.
Patrolman James Camilleri took the report.
• A Bellevue Avenue resident reported on Dec. 14 that multiple vehicles were entered by an unknown person wearing all black clothing.
Patrolman Cody Lovgren responded and took the report.
• A Ridge Road resident reported on Dec. 6 that a delivery of approximately $480 worth of medical supplies was stolen from her porch.
Sgt. Bryan Dougherty took the report.
Arrest
• Jill Day, 49, of Red Bank, was arrested on Dec. 14 at the intersection of Ridge Road and Buena Vista Avenue after police received reports of a possible fight in the roadway at that intersection. Patrols responded and reported that the Day had assaulted an Uber driver. She was charged with simple assault, assault on a police officer, hindering apprehension and disorderly conduct by Patrolman James Camilleri.
