Longtime Rumsonite Robert J. Dwyer, formerly of Rowland, PA, passed away on Jan. 29. He was 85.
Bob was born in Jersey City to John and Grace (Umscheid) Dwyer.
He graduated from Holy Cross grammar school and later what was then Rumson High School Class of 1956. After graduation, Bob served in the NJ National Guard.
Bob retired from JCP&L as a UCM supervisor after 40 years of dedicated service.
He was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Dorothy Dwyer.
Bob is survived by: his loving wife of 64 years, Barbara (Cullen) Dwyer; daughters, Maureen Dwyer, of Rumson, and Kathleen Dwyer, of Laurence Harbor; granddaughter, Page Smith; and brother’s-in-law, Thomas (Terri) Cullen, of NC; and Kenneth (Connie) Cullen, of Oregon.
Family and friends may visit from 3 to 7 p.m. on Feb. 2 at John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. A funeral home service will be held at 11 a.m. on Feb. 3 followed by burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Middletown.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
