Longtime Rumsonite Jeffrey B. Lown, most recently of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully at home on Feb. 17. He was 79.
Born in Stamford, Connecticut to the late Leonard and Mildred (Shantz) Lown, Jeffrey graduated from Fairfield Preparatory High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from Boston College where he met his future wife Maris. The couple married in 1962 and settled in Rumson to raise their family.
Jeff started his financial services career at Chase Manhattan Bank, and later moved on to Eastman Dillon, Stralem Inc., and Credit Suisse First Boston as an asset management executive and investment banker. His clients included major U.S. industrial companies, such as Anheuser Busch, Dana Corporation and Boeing Airlines Inc..
Jeffrey is survived by: his beloved wife of 58 years, Maris (Barrett) Lown; his loving children, Jay (and wife Kristine), David and (wife Leslie), and Christian (and wife Emily); his grandchildren, Jake, Taylor, Sarah, David, Emily, Ben, and Wills.
A visitation will be held at the John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank, on Thursday Feb. 25, from 4 to 7 p.m. A private mass of christian burial will follow on Friday, Feb. 26, at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, Rumson. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Middletown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be sent in Jeffrey’s memory to the Union County College Foundation 1033 Springfield Avenue, Cranford, NJ 07016.
