In Memoriam: Longtime Rumsonite Frank Martino, 72

Longtime Rumson resident, beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, Frank Joseph Martino, passed away peacefully in his sleep at Riverview Medical Center on Dec.1. He was 72.

“After Frank married Beth Martino on Sept. 18, 1993 at the Columbus Citizens Foundation in Manhattan, they settled in Rumson, where they built a beautiful home and life on Sycamore Lane, a place Frank held close to his heart. Together, they raised two children, Caroline and Michael, who were his greatest pride and joy …

“He was a master storyteller with an infectious sense of humor and a deep love for bringing people together. He had a lifelong passion for travel that he went on to share with his family, creating unforgettable memories on the special trips they enjoyed together. More than anything, Frank was deeply devoted to the people he loved. Frank was larger than life and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His unwavering perseverance, generous spirit, and boundless love for his family leaves a legacy that will continue to inspire and bring comfort to those he leaves behind.”

Born to Benjamin and Gloria Martines on Oct. 3, 1952, Frank grew up in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, surrounded by his large Italian family. After graduating from Sheepshead Bay High School in 1970, he pursued his dream of building his own title insurance company, a legacy that continues on to this day.

“Frank was a fearless entrepreneur,” founding Ridge Abstract Corp. at 28 after learning the title insurance industry from his Uncle Sonny. He successfully ran the business for over four decades, and Ridge continues to thrive to this day.

Frank is survived by: his loving wife, Beth; his cherished children, Caroline and Michael; and his three younger brothers.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, Dec. 8, from noon to 3 p.m. at Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad St., Red Bank.
