Longtime Rumson resident, Victoria Maresca, passed away on Aug. 2. She was 80.

“Victoria was a kind and generous soul, always putting others’ needs before her own. Her love and compassion extended to all those who knew her, and she will be remembered for her warm personality. Victoria lived a fulfilling life and was a woman of many talents. She had a particular passion for cooking and entertaining for her extended family, and her homemade dishes were always the highlight of those gatherings …

“She was a dedicated wife to her husband Massimo, and a devoted mother to her children Madeleine and Erika.

Born Victoria Ellen Pucci on Feb. 22, 1944, in Brooklyn, NY, where she grew up, she later moved to Sorrento, Italy, where she met the love of her life, Massimo Maresca. They soon married and returned to the NY area, eventually moving to Rumson, where they have been longtime residents.

Victoria is survived by: her husband, Massimo; her children, Madeleine and Erika; and her grandchildren, Jesse, Eliot, Yasmine and Matthias, who will all miss her dearly.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2024, at Saint George’s-by-the-River Episcopal Church, 7 Lincoln Avenue, Rumson. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Parker Family Health Center in Red Bank in memory of Victoria Maresca.
