In Memoriam: Former Longtime Red Bank Resident, RBR ’70 Grad, Paul McLean, 72

Former longtime Red Bank resident, Paul McLean, more recently of Oceanport, passed away peacefully on Oct. 2 at Complete Care in Shrewsbury.  He was 72.

Born in Long Branch to Harry and Leah Coudrier McLean, Paul lived most of his life in Red Bank before settling in Oceanport in 2010. 

“Paul graduated from Red Bank High School in 1970 and started his career with the United States Postal Service. He was community-minded and volunteered for the Red Bank Hook and Ladder. Paul had an outgoing personality and a great sense of humor.  He had a generous spirit and would go out of his way to help his family, friends, and neighbors in need.”

Paul is predeceased by: his parents, Harry and Leah McLean; his brothers, Barry and Harold McLean; and his sister-in-law, Carol McLean.

He is survived by: his brothers, George McLean (twin), of Lakewood, Steven McLean, of New Smyrna Beach, FL, and James McLean and sister-in-law Marie, of Fort Collins, CO; sister, Caryl Lynn and brother-in-law Brian New Sr., of Red Bank; sister-in-law Lisa McLean, of Lakewood; his nephews, Craig, Kristoffer, Michael and Mark McLean, and Brian Jr., Sean and Kevin New; nieces, Courtney MacKenzie and Megan McLean; and many loving great nieces and nephews.    

A memorial mass will be held on Monday, Nov. 4, at 10 a.m. at St. James Church, 94 Broad St, Red Bank. Burial will follow the mass at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Red Bank Hook and Ladder in memory of Paul at  https://www.redbankfire.org/donate.
