Former longtime Little Silver resident, Inger M. La Manna, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Aug. 10, surrounded by her loved ones. She was 93.
A service is set for Oct. 21 (see below).
Born in Brooklyn, NY to Alf and Hjordis Berge, Inger was the first-born of two children. She grew up in Sailors’ Snug Harbor on Staten Island and remained settled on Staten Island with her husband, John, where they raised their family until settling in Little Silver in 1973.
In August of 2013, Inger joined the Brandywine community in Shrewsbury, “where she received deeply appreciated kindness, respect, care and love, especially from her care manager, Mikeyla Thompson.”
Inger was predeceased by her husband, John M. La Manna in 2004 and her brother, Alf “Alfie” Berge Jr. in 2016.
She is survived by: her loving daughters, Linda Economy and husband George, Karen Mangino and husband David and Judith “Judy” Olsen and husband Bruce as well as her cherished grandsons, Chris Economy, Craig Economy and Jonathan Mangino and wife Paola.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 21, at 1 p.m. at the Lutheran Church of the Reformation, 992 Broadway, West Long Branch, NJ 07764. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Inger’s memory to the church.
