Fair Havenite Frances “Fran” Marion Ruane passed away peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 2.
Born in the Leonardo section of Middletown and raised in Rome, NY by her loving parents, Veronica and Frank Gallagher, Fran worked in the restaurant industry before working at Ellis Kuhnke Controls, Inc., first as an associate and then rising to partner and eventually vice president of the company. She ran the business successfully for many years.
She was also a dedicated communicant of St. James Church, Red Bank.
Fran was predeceased by her parents and brother, James Gallagher.
She is survived by: her beloved son John Ruane III and wife Marianne, of Middletown; sisters, Barbara Deigert, of the New Monmouth section of Middletown, and Patricia Curro and husband Samuel Curro of Oneida, NY; her five grandchildren and their families, Jenny Ruane of Fort Mill, SC, Maggie and Andrew LaBarbera, of Fair Haven, John Ruane IV, of Middletown, Michael and Gabriella Ruane, of Red Bank, and Brian Ruane, of Middletown; four great-grandchildren, Andrew LaBarbera Jr., Mila LaBarbera, Liam Ruane and Domenic Ruane; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 6 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank.
In keeping with the current state mandates regarding COVID-19, face coverings must be worn by all visitors and Guests will be directed to briefly greet the family and exit the building as soon as possible thereafter as only 25 persons are allowed in the funeral home at a time. A mass of christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 7. at St. James Roman Catholic Church of Red Bank. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Breast Intentions, PO Box 926 Middletown, NJ 07748, a charity that was near and dear to Fran’s heart.
