A Fair Haven neighborhood, family and friends are in mourning for a “larger than life” neighbor known as a community pied piper, inspiring neighborhood unity, fun and kindness to all whose lives he touched.
The neighbor, friend, father and husband, Robert “Bob” Carr passed away on Saturday, Aug. 14. He was 64.
Longtime neighbors of Bob flooded a neighborhood Facebook page with messages of remembrance.
Among the many …
“I found an email he wrote to families back in 2008 when he was coach: He wrote … ‘even though the last game wasn’t what we wanted it to be I had three goals ..have fun, learn the game a little better and win some games.’ Bob, you accomplished all those goals for our little Block family: You made things fun, we learned from you, and I think we were all winners having known you.”
Katy Badt Frissora
“Rest Peacefully, Bob, knowing that you brought smiles to ALL … young and old. May your family and all who loved you find comfort in their memories. ‘Till we meet again, neighbor… Rest In Peace.”
Rett Kastner
“Bob you were the best next door neighbor we could ask for. I will forever remember you as a cool cat in your sunglasses and every time you came over, your drink was Chardonnay on ice. We still can’t believe it. We are heartbroken and miss you already. Rest In Peace friend.”
Chrissy Roos-Koutouzakis
“My heart is actually shattered.”
Baylen Waterhouse
“We are so so sad to hear this news. Bob .., thank you for all the treats you passed off to our pups. We will miss seeing you & Tucker on our walks. Our deepest condolences to the family.”

“Heartbreaking to know that he’s gone. Those early block party days, when we relied on us to be the entertainment, Bob always stepped up to the plate! I have no idea where he came up with those ideas to entertain the kids, and the adults! RIP my friend. Our prayers are with your family.“
