In Memoriam: Fair Haven Garden Club Member and Former Reussille’s Jeweler, Elizabeth Bond, 81

Fair Haven Garden Club member and former jeweler at Reussille’s in Red Bank, Elizabeth Bond, passed away on Sept. 9, at home in Middletown. She was 81.

“Born on Dec. 21, 1942, in Budapest, Hungary, Elizabeth became a U.S. citizen and lived in several communities in the Monmouth County area for most of her life. Known for her kindness and gentle smile, she was a warm presence to all that knew her …

“Elizabeth was also known for her varied personal hobbies. She was an avid tennis player, book club member, a passionate gardener, and an active member of the Fair Haven Garden Club. She loved painting, designing planters, arranging flowers and spending time with friends.

“Elizabeth dedicated many years of her life to the jewelry industry, working at Reussille’s Jewelers in Red Bank and later serving as manager of Ballew’s Jewelers of Sea Girt until her retirement. She was sought after for her expertise in the field.”

A member of Tower Hill Presbyterian Church in Red Bank for more than 50 years, she was a Sunday school teacher and church deacon. “Faith was a vital part of her life and inspired many of her community contributions.”

Elizabeth leaves behind a loving family: her daughter, Katherine Merton; son-in-law, Craig Merton; granddaughters, Abigail, Amanda, and Sara Merton; sons, Thomas C.F. and Michael J. Moog; grandson, Thomas J. Moog; and her brother, James Brando.

Elizabeth was predeceased by: her husband, Thomas Bond; her parents, Arpad and Elizabeth Lopuchovszky; and her sister Anna Endes.

A service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 5, at 11 a.m. at Tower Hill Presbyterian Church, 255 Harding Rd., Red Bank.
