Longtime Fair Havenite Carolyn L. Feist died at home on April 19 after a short illness. She was 91.
Born in Nutley on April 6, 1931, Carolyn graduated from Asbury Park High School and Trenton State College and then worked as an elementary school teacher. She married Richard S. Feist in 1954. They settled in Fair Haven and raised two children, living there for 60 years.

“Carol was active in the community, volunteering at the library, serving as a substitute teacher. She loved the Jersey Shore, and after her husband passed away in 2008, she spent time every summer in Ocean Grove, enjoying the environment of camp meetings and gospel singing.”

She is survived by: her two sons, Richard and his wife Mechthild, of New York, and Bruce and his wife Louise, of Ocean Grove; and her two grandchildren, Felix and Sophia.
All arrangements are private and have been entrusted to the John E. Day Funeral Home of Red Bank, New Jersey.
