Saddle up, Fair Haven! The Foundation of Fair Haven has announced its first Haven Hoe-Down, promising a rootin’ tootin’ good time while raising funds for the Fair Haven Day and other community initiatives.
The hoe-down is set for Saturday, March 2, at the Columbus Club, 200 Fair Haven Rd., which will be transformed into a country music dance hall from 7 to 11 p.m.. Booting, scooting and boogying guests are invited to line dance the night away to the toe-tapping tunes of country cover band Not Leaving Sober, sponsored by Christopher Rizzolo.
And the fun won’t stop with the stomping. Vittles aplenty, in southern fare motif, will be provided by Sickles Market. Seasonal cocktails, including an event-themed bourbon drink for the evening, will be served at the bar.
But the fun doesn’t stop at the dance floor and buffet. There will be games and prizes to go along with it all. Guests can test their aim in a cornhole tournament and challenge friends to some classic yard games, too, while soaking up the warm community spirit for which Fair Haven is known.
Prizes will be awarded, and of course
So, dust off your Stetson and dig out your daisy dukes, because festive, theme-inspired attire is highly encouraged. In fact, prizes will be awarded for the most creative and spirited ensembles, so let your inner fashion cowboy run wild. Bragging rights will belong to the winners as well.
Yeehaw! Tickets are $100 and include event entry, music and dancing, belly-bustin’ Southern chow from Sickles, two drink tickets (which include the Foundation’s signature bourbon cocktail), the games and a host of other surprises.
All proceeds go towards future Fair Haven Days and other community initiatives by the Foundation of Fair Haven. This is an adults only — ages 21+ — event that Fair Havenites and friends won’t want to miss.
