Fair Haven Police: Fraud, Theft, DWI, Leaving the Scene

The following recent criminal incidents and arrests were reported by Fair Haven police. An arrest does not constitute a conviction.

Criminal Incidents

• A Clay Street resident reported on Sept. 26 that an unknown person had used his debit card to make fraudulent purchases.

Patrolman John Koetzner took the investigation report.

• A River Road resident reported on Sept. 5 that a bicycle was stolen from a garage on their property.

Sgt. Sherri Lambert took the investigation report.

• A Forman Street resident reported on Sept. 7 that his wallet was stolen or missing.

Patrolman Christian Hostrup took the report.

• A Clay Street resident reported on Sept. 9 that an unknown person or people had used his debit card to make fraudulent purchases.

Patrolman Brooks Robinson took the investigation report.

• A Buena Vista Avenue resident reported on Sept. 9 that an unknown person or people had stolen cash from a vehicle on his property.

Patrolman Brooks Robinson took the theft report.

Arrests

• Steven Aronne, 48, of Rumson, was arrested on Sept. 1 and charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI) following a motor vehicle stop for reckless driving and maintenance of lamps by Patrolman William Lagrotteria .

He was released pending a court date.

• Two area juveniles were arrested on Sept. 2 and charged with with underage possession of alcohol under age by Patrolman William Lagrotteria. They were released to the custody of their parents.

• Larry Brown, 57, of Fair Haven, was arrested on Sept. 10 following a motor vehicle stop and charged with charged with driving while suspended by Cpl. John Waltz.

The license suspension was due to a previous DWI charge. Brown was charged with fourth-degree driving while suspended. He was unable to post $5,000 bail and was transported to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution, Freehold.

• Thomas Mannion, 26, of Fair Haven, was arrested on Sept. 23 and charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI), reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident following a motor vehicle accident by Patrolman Eric Patton.

He was released pending a court date.
