After a brief respite of sunshine and classic crisp fall weather, damp, windy days are here again in the Rumson-Fair Haven area. But, the sun will make a return appearance by Saturday, the National Weather Service predicts.
Until then, the scene down by the Fair Haven Dock is still as serene as ever. As always, it sets the tone for some contemplation and hometown soul searching. The sight of the scene brings the same comfort and warmth as usual. Venturing into it, however, may soak you in a damp chill.

Thursday’s temperatures will reach a high of 42 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. And it’s going to be a sopping wet day, with the chance of precipitation at 100 percent and most of the rain coming after 2 p.m. It will also be breezy, with an east wind ramping up to 22 mph.
Tonight the rain continues with east winds hitting 33 mph and gusts of up to 49. The temperature, however, is expected to rise to 51 degrees by 5 a.m. on Friday.
The rain will continue through about 1 p.m. on Friday. It will dissipate into showers until 2 p.m. and then the sun is expected to peer through the clouds later in the afternoon with temperatures at a high of 48 degrees. West winds will range from 22 to 26 mph steadily with gusts as high as 40 mph.
By Friday night, it will be clear and breezy, according to the National Weather Service, with temperatures at a low of 37 degrees.
On Saturday, the sun will shine with temperatures reaching a high of 49 degrees during the day and a low of 39 at night.
Sunday will be partly sunny with temperatures reaching a high of about 46 degrees.
