Get your lederhosen on and raise your stein! Rain or shine, the Fair Haven Oktoberfest partying is set to prevail.
The family-friendly event, hosted by The Foundation of Fair Haven, is making its comeback after four years void of a fest, in Fair Haven Fields from 4 to 10 p.m. on Saturday.
The Fair Haven Oktoberfest made its debut in 2013 and has shifted month and location over the years before taking the four-year hiatus. But it’s back, and organizers promise a best one yet.
Fair Haven Fields, organizers say, will be transformed into a Bavarian wonderland, replete with live music, food, beer, wine and Truly trucks, activities for all ages, including an adult game corral, and a kids activity zone from 4 to 8 p.m., hosting laser tag and more.
The beverages …
Beer trucks loaded with local seasonal brew on tap will line the fields, featuring: Belford Brewery, Birdsmouth Brewery, Source Brewing, Five Dimes, Wet Ticket and ShorePoint with domestic and seasonal favorites. Truly will also be on tap as well as red and white wines. And there will be games to go along with the beverages.
The food …
Food trucks will be also parked and serving: grilled cheese and more from No Limits Cafe; pretzels from Wetzel’s Pretzels; sausage sandwiches and more from Tony’s Sausage; fried treats from Dellano’s; lobster rolls and other seafood from Angry Archie’s; Mexican eats from The Mexi-Boys; and desserts from Best Day Ever Ice Cream.
The bands …
Live entertainment by popular local bands will be featured, including Not Leaving Sober from 4 to 6 p.m., Thom White and the Flatliners from 6 to 8 p.m. and The Moroccan Sheepherders from 8 to 10 p.m..
As the premier fundraiser for Fair Haven Day, the Fair Haven Oktoberfest plays a crucial role in supporting the community and its various initiatives. Admission is $10. Children under 5, free. No pets please.
