Scene Around: Two RFH Grads in a Sheriff’s Office Pod

It’s not every day that you see two Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School (RFH) graduates, Fair Haven- and Rumson-raised law enforcement officers, side-by-side at a Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office swearing-in. Just today.

This morning, the Sheriff’s Office announced, Rumson-raised Claire Cuje, a 1996 RFH grad, was promoted in ranking to and sworn in as a sergeant. Cuje “began her career as a sheriff’s officer in 2003 and spent most of it working in courthouse operations and warrants,” a statement from the Sheriff’s Office said.

And holding the Bible for Cuje was none other than Fair Haven-raised Breckenridge, current undersheriff, former longtime Fair Haven police chief and RFH 1975 grad.

Doing the actual swearing-in was, of course, Monmouth County Sheriff Shaun Golden. Also promoted to sergeant was Kurt Kroeper, who began his Sheriff’s Office career in 1994 and has served as part of its K-9 unit, “assisting in narcotics detection and criminal/missing person searches.”

“In addition, the sheriff welcomed two new sheriff’s officers, Brandon Spinner and Jacob Niedzielski” who will now undergo 20 weeks of training at the Monmouth County Police Academy.

Congratulations to all!
