As Rumson and Fair Haven police continue to alert residents to a rise in home burglaries in connection with area car thefts and attempts, Rumson police are investigating a residential burglary.
Police issued a released statement on the Sunday, Jan. 15 incident. Police said that the burglary occurred on Bingham Hill Circle sometime between the hours of 5 and 7 p.m.
The homeowner reported that while they were not home, an unknown person or people “entered the home by breaking the window section of a door at the rear of the residence. Several items were stolen from the primary bedroom.”
Police asked that “if anyone should have any information or video footage from their residence during this time frame, please contact Detective Don Schneider at [email protected] or 732-842-0500.”
Police continue to advise residents to take proper precautions to guard against both home burglaries and auto thefts and attempts at both by locking homes and cars and keeping key fobs in locked homes as well.
