Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School (RFH) Football Coach Jerry Schulte has been named this week’s recipient of the New York Jets High School Coach of the Week.
With the designation comes a monetary award of $1000 to benefit the school’s football program. RFH, because of the award, will also receive an automatic bid to compete in the 2022 New York Jets 11-ON Tournament.
Coach Schulte will also be invited to attend the New York Jets vs. New Orleans Saints game on Sunday, Dec. 12. He will receive luxury suite tickets and be recognized on-field at MetLife Stadium. RFH will get 100 tickets to the Jets Play Football 2022 preseason home game.
In its 26th year, the Coach of the Week award is given to a coach in the tri-state area who serves the best interests of the game through the teaching of sound football fundamentals, the motivation of young players to achieve and the promotion of youth football by way of dedication to their community, their school and their student athletes.
About Coach Schulte …
Coach Schulte attended Keansburg High School, where he played fullback and middle linebacker before graduating in 1970. After attending Monmouth University, Schulte returned to Keansburg High School as an assistant coach in 1974, before taking over as head coach at Mater Dei Prep High School in Middletown, and later, Wall High School.
Schulte joined the Rumson-Fair Haven football program as the defensive coordinator in 2005 and was promoted to head coach in 2016. Throughout his coaching career, Schulte has garnered more than 100 career wins and currently leads the RFH Varsity Football Team 5-1 this season.
