The National High School Strength Coaches Association (NHSSCA) has announced that Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School (RFH) has earned the distinction of Program of Excellence for 2022-2024.
This honor recognizes high school strength and conditioning programs that operate at the highest level of professionalism. To earn this honor, veteran Physical Education, Health and Nutrition teacher and coach, Robert Orrok had to display excellence in safety, quality, efficacy, outreach and highlighting in his teachings and coaching via the high school. Excellence in continuing education and technology usage in the RFH Strength & Conditioning program were also demonstrated to earn the recognition.
Mr. Robert Orrok, CSCS, FMS, CNC, joined the RFH faculty after earning his bachelor of science from Springfield College in Massachusetts with specializations in Movement & Sports Studies and Health. He made an major impact on the school community through his knowledge and encouragement in the classroom, his efforts to update the school fitness center and to help educate students about the importance of nutrition.
For the past 10 years, Orrok has served as RFH’s head Strength and Conditioning coach. As such, he has introduced personalized fitness technology and programs to serve his student-athletes and for use in fitness classes.
Last year, he piloted a course open to all students called The Science of Nutrition.
About the NHSSCA
In 2016, the NHSSCA was created by high school coaches for high school coaches.
The vision of the NHSSCA is for every high school student-athlete to comprehensively develop their character, mind and body through coaching excellence.
The organization theorizes that this can be accomplished via the development of coaches who are trustworthy, knowledgeable, effective, passionate, and transformational. Its mission is “to educate, equip and empower coaches to make a positive impact in the lives of student-athletes.”
