Summertime is reunion time for RFHers. And the Class of ’81 just celebrated its 40th.
Reunion times are usually good times for RFH classmates that last a few days with people coming home from all over the U.S. and even abroad. All seem to just pick right up where they left off in the halls, lounges or fields of RFH.
Most friendships have endured through the years and all sorts of milestones — from childhood to adulthood to parenthood, careers and life paths. And all paths lead right back home.
So, it stands to reason that the look of feeling right at home emanates from the heart. Smiles are a clue, too.
Though, over the years, faces have disappeared from the homecoming cache of reunion photos. The memorial table, by the 40th, is sadly full with photos of those gone.
So, that in mind, the Retro Pic(s) of the Day bring back some of those faces from the Class of ’78 with a look back to its 30th reunion.
Three in these photos are gone, two in this year. Kim Cuscaden (top photo, middle and bottom left), the RFH girl remembered for her beaming, infectious smile, vibrant soul and kind spirit, passed away in April. Fiona Wilson Phillips (top right photo, left) passed away in January. She made it to the 40th, her last reunion. And Debbie Clark (top right photo, second from right) didn’t.
The takeaway? Go. It’s the season and the time is always right to reunite and be the best version of that kid again. There are some who hold off on going to reunions for various reasons. The time is now. Go. Dance. Laugh. Remember the teen angst, insanity and fun. Relive it a little. Live. Go back in those moments. Reunite. Get that snapshot? It’s protected in an invaluable time capsule.
Your favorite reunion moment? Misadventure? Classmate?
