Let’s hear it for the girls! It’s only fair that some RFH girls who knew how to raise a bottle with the best of them get equal first reunion remembrance time.
Yes, it was 1988, hair was still a little big, shoulder pads were still in and so was a cheers with beer for RFHers, just like one of those keg parties from, ahem, high school days. Hey, the drinking age was 18 then.
There was no keg here, but this crew of BFFs got dressed up and full-on ready to party after 10 years of not really reuniting, because they never lost touch, but more celebrating near lifetime friendships. Some of these girls are still around and, yes, they’re still best of friends. Nothing better than that.
In fact, one has served on the RFH Board of Education, two are involved in area rugby together, one of them an area real estate agent, and one who is not in the immediate area does have a brother who is captain of the Fair Haven Police Department. The ties in this group have been bound for decades and continue to bind.
This 10th RFH reunion may have been a milestone post-RFH first for them, but there were many more pre-graduation times that lead up to this moment. These girls had been through a lot together, adventures, misadventures, tough and triumphant times. It’s called growing up together — RFH style. Nothing like it.
We know there are a lot of priceless growing pain stories among these friends — stories that will turn into traditions for their own children and grandchildren, keeping the RFH BFF circle of life going strong.
Now, that’s something to toast to!
What do you think their favorite 10th reunion moment was? Favorite misadventure? Raise a bottle and recount yours with them!
Thanks, once again, to the fabulous George Day for this RFH gem!
