They’ve got the fever — spring fever! And the ’70s chariot awaits these girls for the coolest of cruises — or something like that.
While there’s nothing quite as cool as a bunch of RFH besties setting out to make some warm memories with a little cruise, there’s also something feverishly springy and warm about the whole picture. Picture that.
These four RFHers were frequently seen together — rarely apart. They were in that grooviest of cool girl grooves at RFH in the late 1970s. On this one fine day, they all hopped into someone’s car and set out for a misadventure of sorts, or maybe just a pile-in, and some good old fashioned RFH fun.
And while it was, by all accounts, a cruise (or something) made for this gaggle of RFH girls, one can’t help but notice that there’s a guy photo bomber and girl party crasher (or emcee driver) in the backdrop. The girls said it was Neil (?) and that was his car.
Though none of them remembers who took the photo, they do remember the moment, those silver braces and that iconic Nantucket braided rope bracelet that the gym teachers couldn’t make you take off — because it just wouldn’t come off. We do, however, remember that at Knollwood, Kate Hamilton got her rope bracelet cut off by a mean gym teacher. It was a trauma of epic proportions that no one has forgotten.
But we digress … back to the ride!
The girls with the groove on in the foreground are: Kate Galvin, Debbie Ciambrone, Amy Connor and Cricket Herr.
“Those were carefree days!!” said Cricket Herr Romanzi, the sharer of the pic that she said was taken circa 1976 “and what great memories of these high school friends.”
Yes, with the spring warmth in the air, all seem to be catching the fever. And there’s nothing better to fuel it than a joy ride back to ’76 with the best of RFH friends.
Cheers to spring and the ride!
