Cheers to the good times! That’s what most RFHers who knew David Memmott are thinking right now … through the tears.
So what better way to cheer on the life of an RFH Class of ’78 classmate cut too short by a tragic accident than to bring a smile to the faces of those who knew, loved and grew up with him with a snapshot of him in crazy happy times.
So, we honor Dave on the first day of his services with a look back at times of great cheer — literally. Let’s hear it for the guys!
You’ve seen this bunch before. Here they are again, Dave at the top of the crew, incognito of kooky sorts, with the white hat and sunglasses. And, yes, this motley crew of RFH roustabouts.
There was a limited amount of mischief these guys could get into on the football field, pompoms and all. So, they just stuck with the not-so-traditional cheering at this 1977 powder puff football game.
Yes, the cheering was a bit outlandish, but they got the job done … with a lot of laughs and smiles.
Well done, boys! Let’s hear it for happy times and the Dave in all our hearts! Cheers, indeed, Dave!
** Thanks, again, to that fabulous fellow classmate of ours in the ’78 crew, George Day, for this classic … and for bringing smiles to our faces with these looks back, especially today. **
