It’s half past field day time in Fair Haven schools! A reprise in honor of a traditional prequel to summertime for Fair Haven kids …
Once upon a time, in those school days right before summer, when Knollwood School kids gathered on Sportsman’s Field for, well, some Field Day fun, let’s just say it was a bit hard to keep them focused.
Who could blame them? While the organizer’s focus was on teaming them up and getting the restless rascals to coordinate outfits (kinda) and score some wins and good times, the kids had other things in mind — like daydreaming about school being out and getting out of the ol’ Knollwood Dodge perimeter, so to speak.
So, the Retro Pic of the Day is dedicated to the free spirits and smiles of the typical elementary school kid in the area in the 1990s and attaining their dreams — of summer.
This gaggle of little Fair Haven guys and girls graduated from RFH in 2006. Some are still in the area. And at least one we know of is a Fair Haven mom herself now. Another is a mom in another state. The two are still friends. Know who they are?
Recognize anyone? Think this team won any of those Field Day games? Hmmmm … Can anyone say, “Focus?” They were a bit too preoccupied with some sort of pranking to say, “Cheese!” that’s for sure. What was the most popular prank back in the day?
