The fatal Tuesday shooting of a 19-year-old is being investigated by Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Bureau detectives and police, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago announced on Friday.

On Tuesday, April 8, at approximately 4:25 p.m., Asbury Park police responded to the 1100 block of Atlantic Avenue on a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim, later identified as Ah’kim Esdaile, 19, was rushed to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
