On Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025, in Asbury Park, police responded to a report of a shooting incident in the vicinity of the 100 block of Monmouth Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found two adult male victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

The first victim, identified as Tyshan Small, 37, was rushed to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The second victim was also transported to an area hospital where he received medical treatment for a non-life-threatening injury.
