In Memoriam: Red Bank Resident George L. Tully, 65

Red Bank resident George L. Tully passed away on Thursday, Aug. 29. He was 65.

Born in Newark to George R. and Norma Tully, George was one of four children and grew up in Red Bank/Middletown.

He graduated with the inaugural class of Middletown High School South in 1977 and went on to attend St. John’s University, earning his BA in business in 1982, and studied Actuarial Science at The College of Insurance.

“He began his career with Johnson & Higgins in New York City, then continued on at Port Authority of New York & New Jersey and was working in the World Trade Center during 9/11. George enjoyed being a member of Toastmasters International, as well as serving as a deacon at Iglesia Ni Cristo in Elizabeth. An avid Yankees and Jets fan, George loved watching all sports and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.”

George is predeceased by his parents, George and Norma Tully.

Married since June of 2003, George is survived by his beloved wife of 21 years, Jessica Tully and his cherished siblings, Paul Tully and wife Sheila, Roberty Tully and wife Barbara, and Jacqueline DeCarlo and husband Carmen, as well as numerous loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Private services are under the care and direction of John E. Day Funeral Home in Red Bank.
