Red Bank resident Robert W. Meyer passed away at home on Saturday, April 16, following a long, courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 70.
An avid drummer throughout high school, Bob played in many popular, local bands. He served on the Vietnam War as a Navy photographer.
An account executive in the advertising industry in the early 70’s in New York City, Bob’s successful track record inspired him to start his own business in interior design and graphic production services. That led him into launching a thriving architectural and institutional signage business with major developers throughout New Jersey. “He was well sought out and respected by his business associates leaving behind a legacy,” family said in his obituary.
Robert was predeceased by: his parents Richard and Blanche Meyer; and his daughter, Aubrey.
He is survived by: his beloved wife, Martha; his daughter, Katherine Meyer-Hall (Brandon), of Neptune City; his stepson, Fernando Salazar (Catherine), of Aberdeen; his granddaughter, Liliana Eden Salazar; his two brothers, Richard Meyer (Judith), of Florida; David Meyer (Gayle), of Branchburg; and his three nephews, Joshua, Jonathan and Gregory.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 23, from 2 to 5 p.m., with words of remembrance at 4:15, at Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Robert Meyer may be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
