In Memoriam: Red Bank-Raised Longtime Area Resident, Jim Beardsley

Red Bank-raised longtime Monmouth County resident, Jim Beardsley, passed away on Friday, July 19.

Jim spent his childhood in Red Bank. He attended Rumson Country Day School, St. George’s School, in RI, and Princeton University. Jim and his wife, Jennifer, raised their family in Monmouth County.

“He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, remembered for his unwavering kindness, generosity, curiosity and love for his family … Throughout his adolescence, Jim was an athlete. He loved to reminisce about his days throwing the shot put or swimming in competitions. Even in June of this year you could find him swimming laps in preparation for the annual 70+ club championship at Sea Bright Beach Club. Jim loved growing flowers and vegetables to share with family and friends and working on house projects. He was always up for a road trip to visit family, cherishing the time spent with loved ones and meeting new friends. He was especially known for his spontaneous visits, brightening his friends’ days with his presence. Above all, he was the most amazing and loving caretaker, whose dedication and compassion were unparalleled. The love Jim had for his wife of 50 years was something out of a storybook, a deep and abiding affection that inspired everyone around them. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
