“Cathleen was the Corporate Director of Volunteer Services and Senior Services at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel. She had record numbers of volunteers and was always tapped to bring new programs into the hospital such as Pastoral Care, Bayshore Informational Senior Services (BISS) to help seniors with the navigation of insurance, Diners Club program for seniors. Prior to Bayshore Hospital, Cathleen worked as an Assistant Director of Volunteer Services at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Staten Island, NY …

Born in Staten Island, NY on Aug. 9, 1925, Cathleen lived in Holmdel for more than 20 years before moving to Red Bank.
She was a member and vice president of the Holmdel Board of Education, founding member and president of The Pleasant Valley Adult Day Care Center, member of St. Catharine’s Church Council in Holmdel where she was also a religious education teacher. She was also a member of the Holmdel Music Association and the Lady of Charity in New York.
Cathleen was predeceased by: her parents, Gertrude Willoe and Thomas A. Cahill; her brother, Jack (Betty) Cahill; her beloved husband, Joseph B. Murray; her brothers-in law, Jim (Marie)Murray, Ed (Kay)Murray, Bill (MaryBeth)Murray, Bob Murray, Jack (Maureen)Murray.
Cathleen is survived by: her children, Patrice Murray, of Red Bank, Joseph Murray(Connie), of Atlantic Highlands, Christine Boyle, of Alexandria, VA; her grandchildren, Colleen Boyle, Katherine Boyle, Lauren Murray (fiancé Luke Adams), Thomas Murray; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
She was also Nana to the Snyders: Kathy, Ken, Erin, Brandon, Bry, Morgan, Waverly, Haley, Karen and family.
We wish to thank Thelma, Merah and dear friend Terri Bordiuk, who helped care for Cathleen recently and the Hackensack Meridian Hospice team.
Family and friends may visit on Monday, Feb. 16, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the John E. Day Funeral Home in Red Bank. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, Feb. 17, at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of St. Catharine, 108 Middletown Road in Holmdel, followed by burial at St. Gabriel’s Cemetery in Marlboro.
