Longtime Fair Haven Knollwood School custodian Michael Covert, a Red Bank resident, passed away on Dec. 28, 2020. He was 47.
A service is set for Jan. 23 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank. A celebration of life is being planned for a later date.
Michael grew up in Oceanport and graduated from Shore Regional High School in 1992. He was employed by the Fair Haven Board of Education at Knollwood School for many years.
Michael is survived by: his mother, Joanne Harrington, of Virginia; his aunt, Marlene Byram; uncle, Rick Robbins; cousins, Sherry Byram, Diana Salerno and Lianne Pragosa; the love his life, Marcella Cancassi; his beloved cats; and many other cousins and friends.
In keeping with the current state mandates regarding COVID-19, face coverings must be worn by all visitors before entering the funeral home and visitors are also asked to observe social distancing. Visitors are asked to greet the family and then exit the funeral home so that others may also visit due to the limited, allowable capacity. Interment of cremated remains to follow at Woodbine Cemetery in Oceanport.
