In Memoriam: Lifetime Red Bank Resident, Suburban Pharmacy Owner, Joseph Condina, 88

Lifetime Red Bank resident, Joseph Condina, passed away on Feb. 15 in Wilmington, DE. He was 88.

“In his 40+ years as a pharmacist, Joseph owned Suburban Pharmacy in Middletown, NJ and was generous and giving to so many. Joseph worshipped at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church where he served as an altar boy and attended into adulthood until he moved to Delaware. He was an avid NY Giants fan and had a passion for Lionel trains and golfing. He loved spending time with his family, particularly at the holidays.

Born on May 26, 1935 in Red Bank, Joseph was the beloved husband of Alice Condina (Vernol) for 65 years.

He graduated from Red Bank Regional High School and went on to study at Fordham University. He proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserves.

Joseph was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph and Fortuna Condina; in-laws, Larry and Marie Vernol; two sisters, Maria Burgess and Vera Schopfer; and granddaughter, Amy Warshaw.

He is survived by: his four daughters, Judy Warshaw (Brian), Patricia Swan (Kent), Joanne Frazee (Anthony), and Linda Hinspeter (Michael); 10 grandchildren, Tara Stevenson (Zachary), Christopher Warshaw (Alie), Michael Swan (Adri), Alison Tarrats (John), Emily Estavanik (Kevin), Jenna Frazee, Morgan Lester (Tyler), Matthew Callahan, Marty Hinspeter and Stephanie Bartlett (Matthew); six great-grandchildren, Zoey, Carter, Autumn, Madison, Parker, and Adelaide; and many other family members who loved him dearly. 

A viewing will be held at John E. Day Funeral Home in Red Bank on Thursday, Feb. 22, from 4 to 8 p.m.. A mass of christian burial will be celebrated at St. Anthony’s R.C. Church in Red Bank on Friday, Feb. 23, at 9:30 a.m., followed by burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Middletown.
