The woman who was the oldest living member of what was the Fair Haven Fire Department’s Ladies Auxiliary has passed away.
Barbara “Bobbie” Malinconico, a former longtime Fair Havenite and 65-year Auxiliary member, more recently of Freehold Township, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 15, at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. She was 91.
Born in Neptune and raised in Freehold, had lived in Fair Haven before settling back in Freehold in 1983. She began serving on the Fair Haven Auxiliary in 1959.
She was predeceased by: her first husband, Melvin “Pat” Halleran; her second husband, Tony Malinconico; brother, Louis Lippincott; and sisters, June Whalen and Diane Lippincott.
Bobbie is survived by: her daughter, Gayle Trulli and her husband, David, of Freehold; son, Michael Halleran and his wife, Susan, of Cape Coral, FL; stepdaughter, Phyllis Bickerstaff and her husband, Mac, of Dunwoody, GA; seven grandchildren, Lauren Ciancia and her husband, Tom, Michael Trulli and his wife, Vanessa, Cara Trulli and her fiancé, Julian Korduba, Sean Halleran and his wife, Jessica, Kevin Halleran and his wife, Alicia, Heather Halleran and her fiancé, Nick Diem, and Jefferson Bickerstaff; and great-grandchildren, Leo, Theo, Taylor, Carly and twins, Harper and Nolan.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the First United Methodist Church of Freehold, 91 West Main Street on Thursday, Oct. 17, at 10 a.m. with her funeral service to follow at 11. Interment will follow in Fair View Cemetery, Route 35 and Oak Hill Road, Red Bank.
